About Aditya Ayurveda Hospital
Aditya Ayurveda Hospital is situated in Chethalloor, Palakkad District, Kerala, India.   The hospital is in a rural setting with peaceful and calm surroundings.   Dr.Sathyanarayanan, Dr.Suma Satyanarayanan and Bhaskaran Vaidyar are the Head Physicians at the Hospital.   Bhaskaran Vaidyar is the Founder and has over 40 years of experience.  All the Doctors belong and are proud to be a part of traditional Ayurvedic families of Kerala. 

The features of the Centre include comfortable rooms with treatment rooms and private bathrooms, an Ayurvedic herbal manufacturing unit, dining area, telephone booth and internet facility. 

Travel
The nearest international Airport to Aditya is Kozhikode (55 km away).  Other airports near to our center are Coimbatore (110 Kilometers) and Kochi (110 Kilometers).  Please inform us ahead of time so arrangements can be made to pick you up from the airport if you desire.  The approximate cost for airport pickup Cochin Airport to our place is 2,300/- Rupees and from Kozhikode it is 1,200/-rupees (varies according to the petrol price).  The driver may be paid in Rupees upon reaching Aditya so it is advisable to have these charges ready.  Money can be changed at the Airport on arrival.  The road is fairly bumpy so a cushion may be useful if back problem are an issue. If you are arriving late in Cochin you may choose to stay overnight.  The hotel closest to the Airport (1Km away) is the Abad Airport Hotel, Nedumbassery.

Money – American dollars and Euro are easiest currencies to exchange Canadian. Australian dollars are also fine.

Clothing

There is no strict dress code through modest attire is generally worn in Kerala.
 Light comfortable clothing (such as a Sarong, T-shirt, long cool shirts to protect against mosquitoes).  For the treatment bring cloths that you are willing to leave behind after as oils are used in massage and other treatments.

A typical day
The Patient receives treatment in the morning OR afternoon.
Therapies can take 40minuts to 2½ Hours
There is usually no treatment during menses.  Occasional Sundays can be a day off from treatment.
The Aditya staff will clean your room and clothes daily though guest’s can wash their own under wear.  Bed sheets are changed daily.
Once a month there is special puja is done to invoke Divine healing energy.  In the evening the Lalitha Sahasranama is chanted and early the following morning during Homa the Vishnu Sahasranama is recited.

Meals
Eating times are as follows
Breakfast    -  8 AM to 11 AM (depending on the time of treatment)
Lunch        -  1 PM to 2 PM
Afternoon Snacks    -     4 PM
Dinner   -  6.30 to 7.30 PM

The food is typical Kerala cuisine but using a minimum of chilly and oil.  Breakfast may consist of idly, upma, appam, rice noodles, rice soup with coconut chutney, lunch is generally rice, rasam (spicy soup), dal vegetable curry, butter milk and lemon pickle.  The afternoon snack is fruits.  Dinner is chapatti and vegetables curry.  The diet may vary according to you treatment regimen.  Warm herbal water will be found in your room and may be refilled by calling the kitchen staff.  Don’t drink tap water but you can use it for brushing teeth.
 
Patient Guidelines

In order to obtain optimal benefit from treatment and not to counteract the efforts of the therapist’s patient are advised to follow supportive life style and behavioral practices. 
This is a very good opportunity to overcome physical, mental and emotional roadblocks and should be taken seriously if optimal benefits are too be achieved.
Conserve energy (ie. Decrease reading , writing and if possible speaking only when needed, refrain from sexual activity, if you walk only go short distances, decrease watching TV or using the computer) during the treatment process so this can be channeled to optimize and accelerate the healing process.

Generally avoid sleeping during the day. 

Food should be taken as described by the doctor.  Avoid overeating, eating before the previous meal has been digested, eating rapidly without chewing properly, and eating food form outside the hospital. 

Attend to all natural urges without delay.  These include yawning, burping, passing flatulence, drinking, crying and evacuating bowls and bladder. 

Minimize exposure to extreme heat, coldwater, sun and wind.

In consideration of other patients please keep noise to a minimum during treatment times (6 am to 10 am 4 pm to 6.30 pm)

Booking for Inpatient treatments.

1.Rooms are to the booked in advance as we have limited space available.
2.50 percent of the total bill amount has to be paid in advance for confirming the booking.
3.Period of treatment and its costs are decided after contacting the Chief Physician.
